Lindley takes starters reps in Ottawa, Willy in Montreal

Backup quarterbacks are at the helm in Ottawa and Montreal, Ryan Lindley and Drew Willy respectively.

Lindley took first-team reps on Tuesday too. He came on in relief of an injured Drew Tate during Ottawa’s Week 13 win at Montreal. He completed 7-of-14 passes for 76 yards and one interception. Last Friday night, the 28-year-old started in Winnipeg throwing for 151 yards on 16-of-36 passing with an interception in the Redblacks 29-9 loss. Another start comes for Lindley on Friday against Saskatchewan.

Meanwhile, the Alouettes are going through practice with Willy taking first-team reps for the first time this season.

Darian Durant is day-to-day with a hamstring injury. Two straight games Durant has been either a hot mess or struggled. He’s thrown for 3,015 yards completing 67 per cent of his passes and he’s already matched his touchdown pass total from a season ago with 14. Although, the 35-year-old is tied for the league lead with 14 interceptions.

Willy has seen significant action in two of Montreal’s last three games after Durant was benched. He completed 8-of-11 passes for 98 yards and 12-of-17 balls for 83 yards in Weeks 11 and 13, both versus Ottawa.
