Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson gave his former CFL coach a little Twitter love on Thursday night.
Now one of the world’s biggest movie stars, Johnson was once a member of the Calgary Stampeders practice roster as an aspiring defensive lineman. The year: 1995.
Though he was released after just two months and didn’t appear in a game, then-Stampeders head coach Wally Buono seems to have had an impact on Johnson. It started when a CTV reporter mentioned Johnson’s past in a Tweet about the recently-released list of the top-paid actors.
