The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have listed Chris Streveler as their starting quarterback for Friday’s game against the Ottawa Redblacks.
The 29-year-old completed 14-of-24 pass attempts for 170 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in relief of Zach Collaros in last week’s loss to the Stampeders. Collaros, who missed practice this week due to a thorax injury, is listed as the third-string quarterback behind Streveler and rookie Terry Wilson.
The six-foot-one, 216-pound passer hasn’t started a game since rejoining Winnipeg following a four-year run in the NFL. He has thrown for 2,868 yards, 20 touchdowns, and 20 interceptions over 39 career CFL games, going 4-8 as a starter. The native of Crystal Lake, Ill. has also carried the ball 233 times for 1,257 yards and 26 touchdowns.
Winnipeg has made one change to its receiving corps as Kevens Clercius will make his first career start. The six-foot-two, 217-pound native of Montreal, Que. was the No. 13 overall pick in the 2024 CFL Draft out of the University of Connecticut. He has caught four passes for 43 yards in a depth role so far this season.
The Blue Bombers have also promoted fullback Michael Chris-Ike and receiver Myron Murphy to the active roster, while moving receiver Jeremy Murphy and defensive back Marquise Bridges to the practice roster. The rest of the club’s roster remains unchanged from last week’s game against the Calgary Stampeders.
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers (0-4) will host the Ottawa Redblacks (2-1) on Friday, July 5 with kickoff slated for 8:30 p.m. EDT.
