The Arizona Cardinals have re-signed two Canadian players, both of whom were set to become exclusive rights free agents.

Carter O’Donnell dressed for five games with the team this past season, making three starts along the offensive line. He joined the club after being claimed off waivers from the Indianapolis Colts at the conclusion of training camp.

The 25-year-old native of Red Deer, Alta. joined the Colts as an undrafted free agent in 2020 following a standout collegiate career at the University of Alberta. He spent two years on the club’s practice roster before missing the entire 2022 season due to a Linsfranc injury.

The six-foot-five, 313-pound blocker was selected in the third round of the 2020 CFL Draft by the Montreal Alouettes, though his CFL rights have since been traded to the Edmonton Elks.

Jesse Luketa was a seventh-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft out of Penn State University where he played linebacker and along the defensive line. He played seven games for the team as a rookie that same year and recorded three tackles and two tackles for loss.

The 25-year-old returned to Arizona this past season and made 11 total tackles and one tackle for loss over 14 regular season games, which included one start.

The six-foot-three, 252-pound defender was born in Edmonton but raised in Ottawa.
