The CFL has officially set a date for its annual draft along with the opening of training camps across the country.
The 2024 CFL Draft will take place on Tuesday, April 30 at 8:00 p.m. EDT and feature 74 selections over eight rounds. The Edmonton Elks currently hold the first overall selection, followed by the Ottawa Redblacks and Saskatchewan Roughriders.
Ajax, Ont. native Isaiah Adams currently sits atop the league’s scouting bureau rankings, though it’s unlikely he will ever play in the CFL due to the level of NFL interest he’s expected to garner. A full list of the draft’s top 20 prospects can be found here.
The CFL’s Global Draft will take place earlier that same day at 11:00 a.m. EDT. As previously announced, the CFL Combine will take place from March 19-24 in Winnipeg.
Rookie camps across the country will open on May 8 with teams being required to reduce their rosters to 85 players (excluding non-counters) by May 11.
Training camps will open on May 12 with teams needing to reduce their rosters to 75 players (excluding non-counters) by May 14. Training camps will conclude on June 1.
