The B.C. Lions have signed American linebacker Josh Woods to a two-year contract extension, keeping him with the team through 2025. He was set to become a free agent in February.
The six-foot-two, 234-pound defender started four regular season games for the Lions this past season along the West Semi-Final and West Final and recorded 45 defensive tackles, nine special teams tackles, and two interceptions.
The native of Ontario, Calif. has played 37 games with B.C. since joining the team as a free agent in 2021. He has since made 69 defensive tackles, 21 special teams tackles, two sacks, and two interceptions with the club.
The 26-year-old played 31 collegiate games at UCLA from 2015 to 2019, recording 111 total tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, two fumble recoveries, two pass knockdowns, and one interception. He was named second-team All-Pac-12 as a senior.
CFL free agency is set to get underway on Tuesday, Feb. 13 at noon EST.
