Published on

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have signed veteran offensive lineman Stanley Bryant to a one-year contract extension, tying him to the club through 2024. He was set to become a free agent next month.

The six-foot-five, 319-pound blocker started 17 regular season games at left tackle in 2023 and was named a West Division all-star. He also started in Winnipeg’s victory over the B.C. Lions in the West Final as well as the club’s loss to the Montreal Alouettes in the 110th Grey Cup at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton.

Bryant has played 170 games as a member of the Blue Bombers since joining the team as a free agent in 2015 following a five-year stint with the Calgary Stampeders. He is an eight-time West Division all-star, seven-time CFL all-star, four-time CFL Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman, and three-time Grey Cup champion.

The native of Goldsboro, N.C. will turn 38 in May.

CFL free agency gets underway at noon EST on Tuesday, Feb. 13.
