The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have signed Canadian offensive lineman Riley Schick and Canadian kicker Zach Copeland, both of whom went unselected in the recent 2026 CFL Draft.

Schick spent the last two seasons at the University of Regina, earning a Canada West all-star selection at centre in 2025. The native of Regina spent the previous four seasons with the Regina Thunder of the Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL), earning three Prairie Football Conference (PFC) all-star honours.

The six-foot-one, 300-pound blocker previously attended training camp with the Saskatchewan Roughriders and spent time on their practice roster in 2022 and 2023

Copeland made 33-of-45 field goal attempts (73.3 percent) over five seasons at the University of Ottawa. The native of St. Thomas, Ont. also punted 98 times for an average of 42.2 yards.

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats recently selected Louisiana Tech offensive lineman Jonathan Denis with their first-round pick in the 2026 CFL Draft, adding depth up front. The team’s other major offseason additions include quarterback Tre Ford, receiver Kurleigh Gittens Jr., and linebacker Wynton McManis.

All CFL training camps are scheduled to open on May 10. Hamilton will play its first preseason game against the Toronto Argonauts on Saturday, May 23 and its first regular-season game against the Montreal Alouettes on Thursday, June 4.

In 2025, Hamilton finished first in the East Division standings with an 11-7 record, though the team lost the East Final to the Montreal Alouettes.
