Canadian quarterback Taylor Elgermsa has accepted an invite to the 2026 NFL Combine in Indianapolis, Indiana, per sources.

He becomes the second U Sports QB ever invited to the NFL Combine, joining Acadia University star Larry Jusdanis who attended the showcase event in 1995.

Each year NFL teams can invite select free agents to the NFL Combine and Elgersma has garnered an invitation. He’s going along with Kyle Trask to help throw to the other positions during the combine process. Trask was selected in the second round, 64th overall during the 2021 NFL Draft. The combine runs from Monday, February 23 through Monday, March 2 at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Longtime partners and agents, Craig Schaeffer and Fred Weinrauch continue to pursue an NFL contract for the Canuck QB.

After being released by the Green Bay Packers following training camp in August, Elgersma has since worked out for the New York Giants, San Francisco 49ers, Chicago Bears, and Miami Dolphins. The 23-year-old remains focused on inking an NFL contract.

Elgersma completed 16-of-23 passes for 166 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions while playing over three NFL preseason games with the Packers, recording a 104.6 QB rating.

The six-foot-five, 227-pound passer signed with Green Bay as an undrafted free agent in May following a rookie mini-camp tryout, becoming the fourth Canadian university QB to sign with an NFL team and the first since 1987. He threw a touchdown pass during the Packers Family Night scrimmage on Saturday, August 2 and flashed despite limited reps in training camp.
