CFL award-winner Lorenzo Mauldin IV added to Louisville Kings UFL roster

The Louisville Kings have added veteran CFL defensive lineman Lorenzo Mauldin IV to the team’s roster, per the United Football League’s transaction wire. 

Mauldin was traded from the Ottawa Redblacks to the Calgary Stampeders at the CFL trade deadline in 2025. In 15 games split between the two teams, he recorded 26 defensive tackles and two sacks.

The 33-year-old was a two-time All-CFL selection at defensive end during his four years in the nation’s capital. He became a household name in 2022 when he recorded 17 sacks en route to winning the three-down league’s Most Outstanding Defensive Player award.

In 91 career games with the Stamps, Redblacks, and Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Mauldin has registered 163 defensive tackles, 12 special teams tackles, 36 quarterback sacks, and six forced fumbles.

The University of Louisville product was originally selected in the third round, 82nd overall during the 2015 NFL Draft by the New York Jets. He spent three seasons in the NFL, recording 33 tackles, 6.5 sacks, and one forced fumble while earning over $5.3 million USD.

Mauldin was a pending CFL free agent but did not re-sign with Calgary and remains free to sign with any team in Canada.
