B.C. Lions sign six Americans, including Missouri standout Corey Flagg Jr.

The B.C. Lions have added six Americans to their 2026 roster, including linebackers Corey Flagg Jr. and Ralen Goforth, defensive back Joshua Pickett, wide receivers Anthony Sambucci and Treon Sibley, and offensive lineman Logan Zschernitz.

Flagg wrapped up his collegiate career at the University of Missouri in 2024, where he posted 81 tackles, 4.5 tackles for a loss, 1.5 sacks and one interception for the Tigers. The five-foot-10, 233-pound defender transferred after four seasons at the University of Miami, where he compiled 179 tackles, 24.5 tackles for a loss, 5.5 sacks, one interception and one fumble recovery in 43 games for the Hurricanes.

Goforth spent his final college season at the University of Washington, registering 37 tackles, four tackles for a loss, a pair of pass breakups and a fumble recovery in 15 contests. He previously attended USC, where he made 149 tackles, four tackles for loss, a forced fumble, two recoveries, and an interception in 40 games. The six-foot-one, 227-pound backer spent time with the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent in 2024 and has since had stints with the Michigan Panthers and DC Defenders in the UFL, though he has yet to dress for a professional game.

Pickett attended Duke University, where he collected 101 total tackles, 18 pass breakups, a pair of sacks and one forced fumble in 50 games. The six-foot, 188-pound cornerback signed with the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent in 2025, but was waived after training camp.

Sambucci spent five years at Western Michigan University, appearing in 44 games for the Broncos. The six-foot-one, 190-pound target notched 75 receptions for 1,006 yards and nine touchdowns while adding 10 special teams tackles and earning third-team All-MAC honours in 2023.

Sibley suited up for Liberty University from 2019 to 2024, appearing in 59 games for the Flames. The six-foot-one, 205-pound pass catcher hauled in 68 receptions for 1,249 yards and 10 touchdowns, averaging an impressive 18.4 yards per catch.

Zschernitz had a decorated collegiate career at Northern Illinois University, appearing in 49 games at guard or centre. The six-foot-three, 305-pound blocker was named second-team All-MAC in 2024 and earned third-team selections on two other occasions.

The B.C. Lions finished second in the West Division standings in 2025 with an 11-7 record and beat the Calgary Stampeders in the West Semi-Final before losing the West Final to the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Nathan Rourke threw for 5,290 yards, 31 touchdowns, and 16 interceptions over 16 regular-season starts, posting an 11-5 record. He was also named the CFL’s Most Outstanding Player.

The Lions ranked first in net offence, fourth in net defence, and sixth with a turnover differential of minus-four. James Butler rushed for 1,213 yards, Keon Hatcher led the CFL with 1,688 receiving yards, and Micah Awe led the league with 117 tackles. B.C. finished third in attendance with average crowds of 27,124, which was a 0.9 percent increase from the previous year.
