Winnipeg Blue Bombers extend Kyrie Wilson, sign two others

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have signed American linebacker Kyrie Wilson to a contract extension for the 2026 season. He was a pending free agent.

The 33-year-old made 18 starts at weak-side linebacker in 2025, recording 49 defensive tackles, two special teams tackles, and three sacks.

The six-foot-one, 227-pound native of Fresno, Calif. has played 73 regular-season CFL games over eight seasons with the Blue Bombers, making 206 defensive tackles, 17 special teams tackles, nine sacks, three forced fumbles, and one interception.

Wilson helped the Winnipeg win the Grey Cup in 2019 and 2021.

The Blue Bombers have also signed American offensive lineman Micah Mazzccua and American linebacker Brandon Bouyer-Randle.

Mazzccua finished his collegiate career at the University of Nebraska in 2024. He played nine games with the team, making three starts.

The six-foot-five, 325-pound native of Philadelphia, Pa. previously played at the University of Florida and Baylor University. He made 10 starts with the Bears in 2022 and was the second-highest-graded guard in the Big 12.

Bouyer-Randle had NFL stints with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Washington Commanders, and Cleveland Browns over the 2023 and 2024 seasons, though he didn’t see any regular-season action with either team.

The six-foot-four, 240-pound native of Battle Creek, Mich. finihed his collegiate career at Connecticut, where he made 98 total tackles, eight tackles for loss, four pass knockdowns, two interceptions, one forced fumble, and one sack with the Huskies.

The 28-year-old previously played at Texas Tech and Michigan State. In total, he made 181 total tackles, 16 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, 10 pass knockdowns, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and two interceptions over 61 collegiate games.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers finished fourth in the West Division standings in 2025 with a 10-8 record, qualifying for the playoffs as the crossover team before losing the East Semi-Final to the Montreal Alouettes. Zach Collaros threw for 3,048 yards, 17 touchdowns, and 16 interceptions over 13 regular-season games, going 6-7 as a starter.

The Blue Bombers ranked fifth in net offence, third in net defence, and eighth with a turnover differential of minus-eleven. The club’s leading rusher was Brady Oliveira with 1,163 yards, leading receiver was Nic Demski with 1,001 yards, and leading tackler was Tony Jones with 104 tackles. Winnipeg ranked first in attendance with average crowds of 32,343, which was a 3.7 percent increase from the previous year.
