Two U Sports offensive linemen to play in Dream Bowl all-star game at Dallas Cowboys’ stadium

A pair of U Sports offensive linemen will be taking Jerry World storm this weekend, suiting up in the Dream Bowl all-star game at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Tex.

Riley Schick from the University of Regina and Victor Olaniran from the University of Manitoba are scheduled to report on Thursday for three days of practices and meetings in nearby Little Elm, Tex., before taking to the field at the home of the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, January 11.

Schick has played the past two seasons for the Rams, starting 20 games at centre. The six-foot-one, 300-pound blocker helped the team capture an improbable Hardy Cup victory in 2024 and followed it up with a Canada West all-star campaign in 2025.

The native of Lumsden, Sask., grew up playing nine-man football and began his post-secondary journey playing for the Regina Thunder of the Canadian Junior Football League. In four seasons, he was a three-time Prairie Football Conference all-star and twice earned CJFL All-Canadian honours.

Schick was invited to training camp with the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2022 as a territorial exemption and spent the next two seasons practicing with the CFL team while also playing in the CJFL. Double-dipping as a junior player did not affect his U Sports eligibility, and he lost territorial exemption status upon committing to Regina, meaning he will be in the 2026 CFL Draft despite his previous pro experience.

Olaniran has been a stalwart at right tackle for the Bisons. The six-foot-four, 305-pound blocker from Winnipeg, Man., was a Team Canada selection in high school at Vincent Massey Collegiate and played in three games in his first year with Manitoba, but suffered a serious upper-body injury that threatened his career and caused him to miss the entire 2022 season. He has since bounced back, appearing in 26 games over the past three seasons while aiding one of the nation’s best rushing attacks.

Both Olaniran and Schick participated in the 2025 East-West Bowl last May, featuring the top eligible CFL Draft prospect for the following season.

Established in 2013, the Dream Bowl is an annual all-star showcase for NFL Draft eligible prospects attended by scouts from all major professional leagues. It was originally hosted in Virginia and held on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, hence the name, though it has since moved to Texas and now happens a week earlier. Notable CFL players to have participated in the game include 2025 third overall Global Draft pick Kemari Munier-Bailey, as well as quarterbacks Cameron Dukes and Tyrie Adams.

The 2026 game will kick off from AT&T Stadium on Sunday, January 11, at 1:00 p.m. EST. Action will be streamed on the ESPN app in the United States.
