The Pittsburgh Steelers worked out Winnipeg Blue Bombers defensive back Evan Holm on Tuesday, sources confirmed to 3DownNation.
The 27-year-old was named All-CFL for the first time in 2025 after recording 55 defensive tackles, six special teams tackles, four interceptions, and two forced fumbles. He started all 18 of the team’s regular-season games at field-side halfback.
The native of Edina, Minn. has spent the past four seasons with the Blue Bombers, making 225 defensive tackles, 17 special teams tackles, seven interceptions, two sacks, and two forced fumbles over 63 regular-season games. He was named All-West Division in 2023.
The five-foot-eleven, 188-pound defender is a pending CFL free agent.
Holm played collegiately at the University of North Dakota where he made 148 total tackles, three tackles for loss, 33 pass knockdowns, six interceptions, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and one kick return touchdown.
The CFL’s NFL workout window opened on November 17 and will close on February 10 at 12:01 p.m. EST. The window to sign with an NFL team will open on January 5 and end on February 10 at 12:01 p.m. ET.
NFL teams must ask CFL franchises for permission to work out players, but the request cannot be denied. CFL players can opt out of their agreements north of the border if an NFL team offers a contract, though the CFL team retains their exclusive rights for the remainder of the pre-existing contract.
