The Ottawa Redblacks have re-signed American offensive lineman Dino Boyd. He was a pending free agent.
The 29-year-old native of Newark, N.J. started all 18 regular-season games for the Redblacks at left tackle in 2025. He was named the team’s candidate for Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman.
“Dino comes to play every day and sets the tone with his physicality and professionalism,” said head coach and general manager Ryan Dinwiddie in a statement.
“He embodies the culture we’re building here, he works hard, he competes, and he holds everyone around him to a high standard. He’s a leader on our offensive line and in our locker room and we’re thrilled to welcome him back to Ottawa this season.”
The six-foot-four, 300-pound blocker has played 64 regular-season games over five years in the CFL, all with Ottawa. He has been a full-time starter since 2022.
Boyd initially signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2021, though he was released by the team following training camp. He also had stints with the Kansas City Chiefs, Cincinnati Bengals, and Chicago Bears prior to coming north, though he never saw any regular-season NFL action. He played collegiately at the University of Cincinnati.
The Ottawa Redblacks finished fourth in the East Division standings in 2025 with a 4-14 record, missing the playoffs for the fifth time in the last six seasons. Dru Brown went 2-7 over nine starts at quarterback, throwing for 2,389 yards, 14 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. Dustin Crum went 2-4 over six starts, throwing for 1,771 yards, six touchdowns, and two interceptions.
The Redblacks ranked sixth in net offence, fifth in net defence, and ninth with a turnover differential of minus-16. The club’s leading rusher was William Stanback with 698 yards, leading receiver was Justin Hardy with 1,019 yards, and leading tackler was Adarius Pickett with 84 tackles. Ottawa finished eighth in attendance with average crowds of 18,136, which was a 4.2 percent decrease from the previous year.
