The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have signed American defensive back Cam Stone and American receiver Blayne Taylor to their training camp roster.
Stone spent part of the 2025 season with the B.C. Lions, starting two games at cornerback and recording six defensive tackles before being released in October. The 24-year-old native of Angleton, Tex., previously attended rookie mini-camp with the Seattle Seahawks.
The five-foot-10, 180-pound coverman concluded his collegiate career at the University of Hawai‘i (2023-24), where he registered 62 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, three interceptions, 17 pass breakups, a forced fumble, a blocked punt, and over 340 combined return yards in 23 games for the Rainbow Warriors. He transferred to the Big Island after three seasons at the University of Wyoming (2020-22), where he appeared in 28 games and registered 45 tackles, one tackle for loss, two interceptions, 10 pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one defensive touchdown, along with 12 kick returns for 354 yards and a major.
Taylor attended the East-West Shrine Bowl and attended training camp with the Indianapolis Colts after a successful tenure at Abilene Christian University (2022-24). In 36 games for the Wildcats, the six-foot-four, 212-pound target produced 133 catches for 2,026 yards and 17 touchdowns, earning second-team all-conference honours. The 23-year-old from Saginaw, Tex., began his career in the JUCO ranks with Cisco College.
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats finished first in the East Division standings in 2025 with an 11-7 record, though the team lost the East Final to the Montreal Alouettes. Bo Levi Mitchell led the CFL with 5,296 passing yards, 36 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions after starting all 18 regular-season games, earning the East Division’s nomination for Most Outstanding Player.
The Tiger-Cats ranked third in net offence, eighth in net defence, and first with a turnover differential of plus-ten. The club’s leading rusher was Greg Bell with 1,038 yards, the leading receiver was Kenny Lawler with 1,443 yards, and the leading tackler was Stavros Katsantonis with 69 tackles. Hamilton ranked fourth in attendance with average crowds of 22,858, which was a 3.9 percent increase from the previous year.
