The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have signed Canadian long snapper Gordon Whyte to a contract extension.
The 28-year-old has played 84 regular-season CFL games over five seasons with the Tiger-Cats, recording 22 special teams tackles. The six-foot-two, 237-pound native of Toronto, Ont. was originally an eighth-round pick in the 2019 CFL Draft out of St. Francis Xavier University. He attended training camp with Hamilton that year but went back to school for his final year of U Sports eligibility before signing back with Steeltown in 2020.
The Tiger-Cats have also signed American defensive back Kendall Bohler. The six-foot, 195-pound target had a stint with the Denver Broncos earlier this year after going unselected in the 2025 NFL Draft, though he didn’t see any regular-season action with the team. The 24-year-old played collegiately at Florida A&M University where he made 105 total tackles, six tackles for loss, four interceptions, 33 pass breakups, one fumble recovery, and two blocks.
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats finished first in the East Division standings in 2025 with an 11-7 record, though the team lost the East Final to the Montreal Alouettes. Bo Levi Mitchell led the CFL with 5,296 passing yards, 36 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions after starting all 18 regular-season games, earning the East Division’s nomination for Most Outstanding Player.
The Tiger-Cats ranked third in net offence, eighth in net defence, and first with a turnover differential of plus-ten. The club’s leading rusher was Greg Bell with 1,038 yards, leading receiver was Kenny Lawler with 1,443 yards, and leading tackler was Stavros Katsantonis with 69 tackles. Hamilton ranked fourth in attendance with average crowds of 22,858, which was a 3.9 percent increase from the previous year.
