The Ottawa Redblacks have added American quarterback Stone Earle to their negotiation list.
The six-foot, 215-pound passer is currently a redshirt senior at Abilene Christian University, an FCS program located in Abilene, Texas, where he’s thrown for 2,235 yards, 16 touchdowns, and nine interceptions over 10 games in 2025. He’s also rushed 102 times for 334 yards and seven scores.
Earle spent his first two collegiate seasons at Abilene Christian University, throwing for 1,389 yards, 14 touchdowns, and four interceptions in 2020 and 2021.
The native of Fort Worth, Texas transferred to the University of North Texas in 2022 and spent two seasons with the Mean Green mostly as a backup, passing for 319 yards, five touchdowns, and four interceptions. In 2024, he played at Marshall University where he threw for 541 yards, six touchdowns, and two interceptions.
Earle’s father, John, was an NFL offensive lineman who played five seasons for the Kansas City Chiefs, New England Patriots, Atlanta Falcons, and St. Louis Rams.
CFL teams can claim the rights to up to 45 players via the negotiation list on a first-come, first-served basis, provided that they are not eligible for the Canadian or Global Drafts, and have never played in the league before. These players can be added, traded, or removed from the list at any time.
Being added to a negotiation list does not mean that the player has expressed interest in the CFL, and some are unaware that their rights have even been claimed. Players can only force their removal from the list if the team does not provide them with a minimum contract offer at their request.
