112th Grey Cup in Winnipeg officially sold out

The 112th Grey Cup, which is slated for Sunday, November 16 at Princess Auto Stadium in Winnipeg, Man., is officially sold out.

“Winnipeg fans have once again shown why our city is the heartbeat of Canadian football,” said Blue Bombers president and CEO Wade Miller in a statement. “The energy, excitement, and support we’ve seen from fans across Canada have made this year’s Grey Cup Festival one of the most anticipated in history. We can’t wait to welcome everyone to Manitoba and showcase the passion that defines this community.”

The CFL’s championship game has been near a sell-out for months with a mere few dozen tickets available for the past few days, according to the map on Ticketmaster. The Grey Cup Festival is almost fully sold-out as well, which means it should be a full week of partying in the Manitoba capital.

This year’s Grey Cup will be the second-ever played at Princess Auto Stadium and the fifth-ever hosted in Winnipeg. The most recent Grey Cup in the city occurred in 2015 as the Edmonton Football Team defeated the Ottawa Redblacks by a score of 26-20 with Fall Out Boy performing the halftime show in front of a sold-out crowd of 36,634.

The matchup will feature the winners of the upcoming East Final between the Montreal Alouettes and Hamilton Tiger-Cats and West Final between the B.C. Lions and Saskatchewan Roughriders. The halftime show will be performed by Machine Gun Kelly, who is also known simply as MGK.
