The Edmonton Elks missed the playoffs for a fifth-straight season after finishing at the bottom of the West Division standings with a 7-11 record.
The team went 6-5 over its last 11 games, but was ultimately thwarted by a 1-6 start. Cody Fajardo helped secure the offensive side of the ball after taking over the starting role from Tre Ford, while the team’s defence showed considerable improvement during the second half of the season.
Fajardo will likely be Edmonton’s top free-agent priority, though there are plenty of other marquee contributors set to hit the open market in February.

It should be noted that players who finish the season on the practice roster automatically become free agents. This means that quarterback Zach Zebrowski (A), receivers Justin McGriff (A) and Ayir Asante (A), defensive lineman Gavin Meyer (A), linebacker Xander Mueller (A), defensive back Bryce Cosby (A), and punter Ethan Duane (G) are free to join any other team.
