The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have added American quarterback Keali’i Ah Yat to their negotiation list.
The six-foot-one, 200-pound passer is a redshirt sophomore at the University of Montana where he has completed 68 percent of his passes for 2,238 yards, 17 touchdowns, and seven interceptions over eight games in 2025. He has also rushed 42 times for 31 yards and three scores.
The native of Kaneohe, Hi. completed 59 percent of his passes 1,121 yards, seven touchdowns, and six interceptions over 11 games in 2024. He also rushed 57 times for 159 yards and seven scores.
Ah Yat threw for 271 yards and one touchdown in 2023, though he was granted a redshirt. He is the son of Brian Ah Yat, a two-time Big Sky Offensive MVP who spent three seasons with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, throwing for 188 yards, three touchdowns, and three interceptions.
CFL teams can claim the rights to up to 45 players via the negotiation list on a first-come, first-served basis, provided that they are not eligible for the Canadian or Global Drafts, and have never played in the league before. These players can be added, traded, or removed from the list at any time.
Being added to a negotiation list does not mean that the player has expressed interest in the CFL, and some are unaware that their rights have even been claimed. Players can only force their removal from the list if the team does not provide them with a minimum contract offer at their request.
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers (10-8) will visit the Montreal Alouettes (10-8) in the East Semi-Final at Percival Molson Stadium on Saturday, November 1 with kickoff slated for 2:00 p.m. EDT. The two teams met at Princess Auto Stadium in the final week of the regular season as the Blue Bombers came away with a 19-10 victory.
The weather forecast in Montreal calls for a high of 8 degrees with rain. The game will be broadcast on TSN, RDS, and CTV in Canada and CFL+ internationally. Radio listeners can tune-in on 680 CJOB in Winnipeg and TSN 690 in Montreal.
