LB Kyler Fisher back in action for Hamilton Tiger-Cats against Ottawa

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are counting on a couple of notable defensive returnees to push them over the top in their hunt for first place in the East Division.

Rookie linebacker Kyler Fisher will step back into the lineup after missing last week’s game due to a knee injury. The 24-year-old native of Farnhamville, Ia. has played 13 games for the Tiger-Cats this season and made six starts, recording 57 defensive tackles, nine special teams tackles, and one sack.

Also back is defensive tackle Miles Fox, who has made 24 defensive tackles in 16 games since coming over from Winnipeg in free agency. He replaces Mario Kendricks, who has been made a healthy scratch despite making 18 tackles and five sacks in 16 games.

Rounding out the changes is a swap at backup safety, with Ronan Horrall coming in over healthy scratch Patrick Burke Jr. American linebacker Ryan Meed has been returned to the practice roster.

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats (10-7) will host the Ottawa Redblacks (4-13) at Hamilton Stadium on Friday, October 24, with kickoff slated for 7:00 p.m. EDT. The Redblacks, who have already been eliminated from playoff contention, are coming off a 39-28 loss to Montreal, while the Tiger-Cats can clinch first place in the East Division with a victory this week.

The weather forecast in Hamilton calls for a high of 12 degrees with a 30 percent chance of showers. The game will be broadcast on TSN and RDS in Canada and CFL+ internationally. Radio listeners can tune in on TSN 1200 in Ottawa and the Ticats Audio Network.
