Tyrie Adams is likely to make his second-straight start for the Ottawa Redblacks as Dustin Crum remains a non-participant in practice due to a head injury, according to TSN 1200 play-by-play man AJ Jakubec.
The six-foot, 185-pound dual-threat passer made his first start in two years this past week, throwing for 286 yards, three touchdowns, and three interceptions in a 39-28 loss to the Montreal Alouettes. He also ran the ball eight times for 26 yards.
The 28-year-old native of St. Petersburg, Fla. has been with the Redblacks since 2022, though he missed much of that time with a torn ACL in 2023. He made one start that season — his first of two CFL starts — and led Ottawa to a win over the Edmonton Elks, throwing for 185 yards and one touchdown and rushing three times for 31 yards.
In total, Adams has thrown for 698 yards, four touchdowns, and four interceptions, and rushed 19 times for 107 yards over 22 career regular-season CFL games.
The Ottawa Redblacks (4-13) will visit the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (10-7) at Hamilton Stadium on Friday, October 24 with kickoff slated for 7:00 p.m. EDT. The Redblacks, who have already been eliminated from playoff contention, are coming off a 39-28 loss to Montreal, while the Tiger-Cats can clinch first place in the East Division with a victory this week.
The weather forecast in Hamilton calls for a high of 12 degrees with a 30 percent chance of showers. The game will be broadcast on TSN and RDS in Canada and CFL+ internationally. Radio listeners can tune-in on TSN 1200 in Ottawa and the Ticats Audio Network.
