The Edmonton Elks roster will remain relatively intact as they continue to fight for their playoff lives on Saturday against the B.C. Lions.
The lone change to the lineup is the loss of Canadian defensive lineman Jonathan Kongbo, who has been ruled out with a rib injury. The 29-year-old has recorded six defensive tackles and a career-high four sacks in 16 games since joining the Elks. He will not get a chance to rekindle his acquaintance with a Lions organization that he was briefly a part of in 2023, before being released and claiming the team did not have a winning culture.
D.K. Bonhomme will return from a wrist injury and replace Kongbo in the rotation. The second-year pro has been a force on special teams this season, recording 14 tackles in 15 games.
The Edmonton Elks (7-9) will visit the B.C. Lions (9-7) at BC Place Stadium on Friday, October 17, with kickoff slated for 10:30 p.m. EDT. The Elks are coming off a win over the Blue Bombers that kept their playoff hopes alive, while the Lions were on a bye week.
The game will be broadcast on TSN in Canada and CFL+ internationally. Radio listeners can tune in on 880 CHED in Edmonton and 730 CKNW in Vancouver.
