CBS Sports Network has expanded its broadcast rights deal, picking up an option to televise the Grey Cup in the United States for a second consecutive season.
The 24-hour cable home of CBS Sports is in its third season as the television home of the CFL in the United States, but carries only a limited slate of 34 regular-season matchups. Prior to Friday’s announcement, the Thanksgiving Day game between the Montreal Alouettes and Ottawa Redblacks was the final game on their broadcast schedule.
All regular-season and postseason games not airing on CBS Sports Network are available to Americans for free online via the league’s live-streaming platform, CFL+. That platform hosted the entirety of the Grey Cup playoffs in 2023, but the titular championship game was limited to television subscribers in 2024. That will now be the case again in 2025.
CBS Sports Network is available on all major cable, satellite, and telco distributors as well as online through YouTube TV, fuboTV, DirecTV, and Hulu in the U.S. The CFL struck a deal with the network in April of 2023 worth a reported $1 million after previously partnering with ESPN.
The 112th Grey Cup will be played at Princess Auto Stadium in Winnipeg on Sunday, November 16 at 6:00 p.m. EDT. The championship contest will be broadcast live across Canada on CTV, TSN and RDS, while viewers outside of North America will still be able to tune in free on CFL+.
