The Ottawa Redblacks have signed three American players, including linebacker Jonathan Jones, receiver Robert Lewis, and defensive back Kenyon Reed.

Jones was recently released by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers after playing only three regular-season games with the team and recording two special teams tackles. The six-foot, 225-pound defender was a healthy scratch for seven games to start the season before being moved to the practice roster near the end of August.

The 27-year-old native of Ocoee, Fla. previously played for the Toronto Argonauts where he dressed for 36 regular-season games, recording 88 defensive tackles, 26 special teams tackles, eight sacks, three interceptions, and one forced fumble. He won the Grey Cup with the team in 2022 and 2024.

Lewis attended training camp with the Minnesota Vikings earlier this year but didn’t see any regular-season action with the team. The five-foot-ten, 185-pound native of Covington, Ga. finished his collegiate career at Auburn University where he caught 16 passes for 155 yards. He previously played at Georgia State University where he made 90 receptions for 1,019 yards and 10 touchdowns to be named third-team All-Sun Belt in 2023.

Reed attended training camp with the Redblacks earlier this year but was released as part of final roster cuts. The five-foot-ten, 176-pound native of Sacramento, Calif. played three regular-season games with the Calgary Stampeders in 2024, making 10 defensive tackles and one sack. He played collegiately at San Jose State University where he made 102 total tackles, two interceptions, and one sack.

The Ottawa Redblacks (4-11) will visit the Montreal Alouettes (8-7) at Percival Molson Stadium on Monday, October 13 with kickoff slated for 1:00 p.m. EDT. The Redblacks were eliminated from playoff contention with a loss to the Saskatchewan Roughriders this past week, while the Alouettes were on a bye.

The weather forecast in Montreal calls for a high of 16 degrees with a mix of sun and cloud. The game will be broadcast on TSN and RDS in Canada, CBS Sports Network in the United States, and CFL+ internationally. Radio listeners can tune-in on TSN 1200 in Ottawa and TSN 690 in Montreal.
