In 2023, Bachmeier played at Louisiana Tech where he completed 67.7 percent of his passes for 2,058 yards, 10 touchdowns, and five interceptions.

In total, Bachmeier completed 63.0 percent of his passes for 11,256 yards, 67 touchdowns, and 34 interceptions over the course of 50 collegiate games.

The Lions also released four Canadian rookies from the roster. Linebacker Jacob Bond and receiver Colton Meikle have been returned to their respective CJFL teams after spending training camp as territorial exemptions. Linebacker Chase Tataryn, the club’s sixth-round draft pick, and fullback Luka Stoikos, their eighth-round pick, also won’t make the final roster.

The Lions will visit the Edmonton Elks for the final game of the 2025 preseason on Friday, May 30. After this week’s preseason action, all nine CFL teams must finalize their cuts by 10:00 p.m. local time on Saturday, May 31.
