Official: B.C. Lions sign former Saskatchewan Roughriders DB Deontai Williams

The B.C. Lions have officially signed American defensive back Deontai Williams. 3DownNation reported the agreement during the CFL’s recent free-agent negotiation window.

The six-foot-one, 225-pound defender spent the past two seasons with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, appearing in 27 regular-season games. He recorded 90 defensive tackles, six special teams tackles, three interceptions, and one forced fumble.

The 28-year-old native of Jacksonville, Fla. played collegiately for Nebraska. In 30 games over four seasons with the Cornhuskers, he made 122 tackles, seven tackles for loss, one sack, six interceptions, and three forced fumbles.

Williams had a stint with the Seattle Seahawks prior to signing his first CFL contract.
