The Calgary Stampeders have signed veteran strong-side linebacker Derrick Moncrief.
The six-foot-one, 220-pound defender made 50 defensive tackles, three sacks, and one interception with the Edmonton Elks this past year. He played 14 regular-season games and made 13 starts at strong-side linebacker and one safety.
The 31-year-old first came to the CFL as a member of the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2017. He spent three seasons with the club and was named All-CFL in 2019 after recording 69 defensive tackles, four special teams tackles, four sacks, three interceptions, and one forced fumble.

Moncrief spent 2020 in the NFL as a member of the Las Vegas Raiders and Los Angeles Rams, dressing for one regular-season game.
The native of Prattville, Ala. returned to the CFL with Edmonton in 2021 before signing back with the Roughriders in 2022 when he was named All-West Division. He remained in Riderville in 2023 before joining the Elks in 2024.
In total, Moncrief has played 88 career regular-season CFL games and made 298 defensive tackles, nine special teams tackles, 11 sacks, 10 interceptions, and one forced fumble.
