The B.C. Lions have signed Canadian defensive lineman Nathan Cherry to a one-year contract extension. He briefly became a free agent on Tuesday.

The six-foot-three, 240-pound native of Saskatoon, Sask. played only one regular-season game due to injury in 2024, recording one defensive tackle.

The 26-year-old was originally the third overall pick in the 2022 CFL Draft out of the University of Saskatchewan. He has played 28 career games with the Lions, making 15 defensive tackles, two sacks, and two forced fumbles.
