The Edmonton Elks have agreed to terms on a one-year contract with Canadian offensive lineman Gregor MacKellar, per sources.

The 26-year-old native of Timberlea, N.S. has played 43 games and made 22 starts at guard with the Toronto Argonauts over the past three seasons, helping the team win two Grey Cups.

The six-foot-four, 311-pound blocker was a first-round pick in the 2022 CFL Draft out of St. Francis Xavier University. He helped the X-Men win two Loney Bowls and once competed in the World Pipe Band Championships as a bagpiper.

This move is the latest in a long line of signings for the Elks under new general manager Ed Hervey, who agreed to contracts with eight potential starters on Sunday.

Pending free agents can negotiate with teams across the league during the current window, which closes on February 9. Players can agree to terms on a contract with a particular team for 2025, however, these deals aren’t legally binding and can’t be finalized or made official until after free agency opens on February 11.
