Montreal Alouettes’ quarterback Cody Fajardo missed practices on Thursday after the birth of his second child but is expected to be available for Monday’s clash with the Ottawa Redblacks.
Didier Ormejuste of RDS confirmed on Twitter that Fajardo and his wife, Laura, welcomed a baby boy on Wednesday, capping an otherwise quiet bye week for the Alouettes. The couple already have one son, Luca, who was born during the 2022 season.
Fajardo has appeared in 12 games this season for the Alouettes, completing 224-of-335 passes for 2,867 yards, 15 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. He has also scrambled 47 times for 255 yards and three majors. In his first season with Montreal in 2023, the 32-year-old led the franchise to a Grey Cup victory and was named the game’s MVP.
