Saskatchewan Roughriders sign former Texas Tech standout RB SaRodorick Thompson Jr.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed running back SaRodorick Thompson Jr.

The six-foot, 210-pound ball-carrier went unselected in the 2023 NFL Draft before stints with the New Orleans Saints, Seattle Seahawks, Dallas Cowboys, and Los Angeles Rams. He dressed for one game with the Seahawks but didn’t register any statistics.

The native of Irving, Texas played five collegiate seasons at Texas Tech University, rushing for 2,664 yards and scoring 41 touchdowns over 50 career games. He remains third all-time in program history in rushing touchdowns (40) and fourth in total touchdowns (41).

The 24-year-old was named All-Big 12 three separate times as a member of the Red Raiders and was invited to participate in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl as well as the Reese’s Senior Bowl.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders (5-5-1) are slated to host the Winnipeg Blue Bombers (5-6) on Sunday, Sept. 1 for the annual Labour Day Classic at 7:00 p.m. EDT.
