Miami Dolphins release Canadian DL Neville Gallimore

The Miami Dolphins have released Canadian defensive lineman Neville Gallimore. The six-foot-two, 305-pound defender signed a one-year, $1.79 million contract with the team as a free agent in March.

The Ottawa native was a third-round pick of the Dallas Cowboys in the 2020 NFL Draft out of the University of Oklahoma. He dressed for 52 regular season games over four seasons with the club and made 14 starts, recording 90 total tackles, 11 tackles for loss, four sacks, and three pass knockdowns. He earned a total of $4.7 million USD.

Gallimore became a full-time starter with the Sooners in his junior year, recording 79 tackles and seven sacks over his final two collegiate seasons. He also forced five fumbles and knocked down two passes during his NCAA career.

The 27-year-old produced strong numbers at the NFL Combine in 2020, posting 23 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press and a 4.79-second forty-yard dash.

Gallimore’s exclusive CFL rights belong to the Saskatchewan Roughriders by virtue of being selected in the eighth round of the 2020 CFL Draft.

NFL teams were required to make their final cuts on Tuesday, Aug. 27 ahead of the regular season.
