Winnipeg Blue Bombers sell out Banjo Bowl vs. Saskatchewan Roughriders

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have sold out this year’s Banjo Bowl against the Saskatchewan Roughriders, which is slated for Saturday, Sept. 7.

Team president and CEO Wade Miller indicated this is the earliest the rivalry game has sold out since Princess Auto Stadium opened in 2013.

The pregame tailgate area will open at 11:00 a.m. local time, while the main gate will open at 12:30 p.m. ahead of a 2:00 p.m. kickoff.

This will be the first edition of the Banjo Bowl shown on broadcast television almost since its inception as, new this year, CTV will exclusively carry the CFL’s early afternoon games on Saturdays during the fall.

The first Banjo Bowl was played at Canad Inns Stadium in 2004. The Blue Bombers hold a 12-7 all-time lead in the contest and have won seven of the last eight matchups, including them all since 2019.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers (2-5) will visit the Toronto Argonauts (3-3) on Saturday, July 27 with kickoff slated for 7:00 p.m. EDT.
