The Ottawa Redblacks will be relatively healthy for their Week 5 rematch with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
Global linebacker Tyron Vrede (hip) is the lone absence this week, being placed on the one-game injured list. The veteran Dutchman has two special teams tackles in two games this season and will be replaced by second-year Canadian James Peter.
Safety Ty Cranston (ankle) will also extend his stay on the one-game, while linebacker Silas Stewart, offensive lineman Dontae Bull, and receiver Kalil Pimpleton will be healthy scratches. Quarterback Jeremiah Masoli, running back Devonte Williams, defensive lineman Kene Onyeka, and defensive backs Alijah Mcghee, Brandin Dandridge, and Money Hunter all remain on the six-game injured list.
The Redblacks have already faced the Bombers once this season, securing a 23-19 victory. This game will mark quarterback Dru Brown’s official return to Winnipeg, where he spent the first three seasons of his career as a backup. Through three games this season, he has completed 65-of-107 pass attempts for 795 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception.
The Ottawa Redblacks (2-1) will visit the Winnipeg Blue Bombers (0-4) on Friday, July 5 at 8:30 p.m. EDT.
