Oddsmakers have made the Saskatchewan Roughriders underdogs for their upcoming game against the Toronto Argonauts despite the team still being undefeated at 3-0.
Shea Patterson will make his first career start at quarterback as Trevor Harris is expected to miss four to six weeks with a knee injury. The 27-year-old native of Toledo, Ohio has completed only eight career CFL passes, going four-for-ten for 41 yards in relief duty against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in Week 3.
The six-foot-two, 202-pound passer was a three-year collegiate starter at the University of Mississippi and the University of Michigan, throwing for 8,800 yards, 68 touchdowns, and 27 interceptions. He was twice named All-Big Ten as a member of the Wolverines and had stints with the Kansas City Chiefs, B.C. Lions, Montreal Alouettes, Michigan Panthers, and New Orleans Breakers prior to signing in Riderville.

The Argonauts suffered their first loss of the season this past week, dropping a 30-20 contest to the red-hot Montreal Alouettes. Cameron Dukes threw for 199 yards and one interception — his first of the season — before being replaced late in the game by Bryan Scott, who threw a touchdown pass to Makai Polk in garbage time.
Saskatchewan hasn’t started the season 4-0 since 2013, the last year the team won the Grey Cup. They currently sit atop the West Division standings ahead of the B.C. Lions (3-1), Calgary Stampeders (2-1), Winnipeg Blue Bombers (0-4), and Edmonton Elks (0-4).
The Saskatchewan Roughriders (3-0) will host the Toronto Argonauts (2-1) on Thursday, July 4 with kickoff slated for 9:00 p.m. EDT.
