The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have released six players, including American running back Ronnie Brown, American receiver Ravi Alston, American defensive lineman John Waggoner, Canadian Linebacker Jared Beeksma, and American defensive backs CJ Siegel and Raleigh Texada.
Beeksma dressed for three games with the Blue Bombers last season, recording two special teams tackles. The six-foot-two, 220-pound defender was originally a fifth-round pick of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats out of the University of Guelph and made one defensive tackle and five special teams tackles as a rookie in 2022.
Alston made one start with Winnipeg in 2023 but didn’t record any statistics. The six-foot-three, 209-pound native of Lake Elsinore, Calif. made 27 catches for 398 yards and one touchdown at Montana State University in 2022, finishing as the team’s second-leading receiver, before joining the Blue Bombers’ practice roster partway through last season.
