The B.C. Lions have signed former NFL defensive back Duke Dawson.

The five-foot-eleven, 182-pound cover man was a second-round pick of the New England Patriots in the 2018 NFL Draft. He missed his entire rookie season due to a hamstring injury before being traded to the Denver Broncos the following year.

Dawson played 26 games with the Broncos over the 2019 and 2020 seasons, recording 27 total tackles and two pass breakups. He suffered a torn ACL late during his second season with the team and was assigned to the practice roster the following year.
