Toronto Argonauts sign former Blue Bombers’ LB Malik Clements

The Toronto Argonauts have signed American linebacker Malik Clements.

The six-foot, 216-pound defender made 23 defensive tackles, six special teams tackles, three sacks, and one forced fumble over 12 games with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers this past season. He started six games at weak-side linebacker prior to being replaced by Kyrie Wilson, who returned from injury.

The 27-year-old has dressed for 31 career games as a member of the Edmonton Elks and Blue Bombers, recording 65 defensive tackles, 12 special teams tackles, four sacks, and one forced fumble.

The University of Cincinnati product played 50 collegiate games for the Bearcats and made 197 tackles, nine tackles for loss, two sacks, one interception, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery.

Toronto will open their 2024 regular season on Sunday, June 9 when they host the B.C. Lions at BMO Field.
