Official: Calgary Stampeders sign QB Matthew Shiltz

The Calgary Stampeders have officially signed American quarterback Matthew Shiltz following the opening of free agency.

The six-foot-two, 205-pound passer started three games with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats this past season, posting a 2-1 record. He completed 67.1 percent of his passes for a career-high 1,556 yards, seven touchdowns, and five interceptions.

The 31-year-old has completed 65.4 percent of his passes for 4,357 yards, 19 touchdowns, and 18 interceptions over 78 career games as a member of the Montreal Alouettes and Ticats. He has also carried the ball 101 times for 625 yards and four touchdowns.

The Stampeders will open the 2024 regular season on Friday, June 7 when they host the Hamilton Tiger-Cats at McMahon Stadium.
