The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed American defensive lineman Elijah Ponder.
The six-foot-three, 265-pound defender went unselected in the 2021 NFL Draft before a stint with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He most recently played for the Seattle Sea Dragons of the XFL.
The native of Atlanta, Ga. played five collegiate seasons at the University of Cincinnati where he made 64 career tackles, 13 tackles for loss, five sacks, one pass knockdown, and two forced fumbles over 32 games.
The Riders will open their 2024 regular season on Saturday, June 8 when they visit the Edmonton Elks at Commonwealth Stadium.
