The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have signed American defensive back Brandon Alexander to a one-year extension through 2024. He was set to become a free agent next week.
The six-foot, 192-pound defender started 17 games at safety this past season, recording 41 defensive tackles and two interceptions.
The 30-year-old from Orlando, Fla. has been a member of the team since 2017 when he signed following a brief stint with the Atlanta Falcons. He has dressed for 77 career CFL games, making 211 defensive tackles, 20 special teams tackles, eight interceptions, and six forced fumbles.

Alexander is a two-time West Division all-star, one-time CFL all-star, and two-time Grey Cup champion.
The Blue Bombers will open the 2024 regular season by hosting the Grey Cup champion Montreal Alouettes at Princess Auto Stadium on Thursday, June 6.
