The Edmonton Elks have signed American defensive back Kordell Jackson.
The five-foot-ten, 185-pound defender was a member of the Frisco Fighters of the Indoor Football League this past season and was named the IFL’s Defensive Rookie of the Year. He tied for the league lead with eight interceptions and made 68 total tackles and 23 pass deflections over 16 games.
The 24-year-old native of Birmingham, Ala. attended rookie minicamp with the Baltimore Ravens in 2022 and was a member of the XFL’s Orlando Guardians in 2023.

Jackson was named first-team All-OVC three times during his collegiate career at Austin Peay State University, recording 216 total tackles, 10.5 sacks, 11 interceptions, 33 pass knockdowns, and three forced fumbles over 52 games.
The Elks will open their 2024 regular season by hosting the Saskatchewan Roughriders at Commonwealth Stadium on Saturday, June 8.
