Calgary Stampeders sign former NFL defensive end Charles Wiley

The Calgary Stampeders have signed American defensive lineman Charles Wiley.

The six-foot-two, 251-pound defender signed with the Baltimore Ravens after going unselected in the 2022 NFL Draft. He made five tackles and 1.5 sacks during the preseason before being released at the conclusion of training camp. He has since been a member of the New York Giants and Cleveland Browns.

The 25-year-old spent his final two collegiate seasons at the University of Texas at San Antonio. He made 79 tackles, 19 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, two pass breakups, and three fumble recoveries over 26 games with the Roadrunners.

The native of Atlanta, Ga. started his collegiate career at Ole Miss where he made 57 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, and 5.5 sacks over 33 games with the Rebels.
