Saskatchewan Roughriders sign former Edmonton Elks’ DB Mark McLaurin

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed American defensive back Mark McLaurin.

The six-foot-two, 215-pound defender played 13 games as a member of the Edmonton Elks in 2023, starting three games at safety and five games at strong-side linebacker. He recorded 48 defensive tackles, seven special teams tackles, one interception, and one forced fumble prior to being released in October.

The 26-year-old defender played collegiately at Mississippi State and had stints with the New York Giants and The Spring League after going unselected in the 2019 NFL Draft.

McLaurin played four seasons of collegiate football at Mississippi State where he made 224 defensive tackles, 10 tackles for loss, three sacks, eight interceptions, 18 pass deflections, two forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries over 51 career games.
