Zeroing in: Redblacks re-sign receiver Bralon Addison

The Ottawa Redblacks have re-signed veteran American receiver Bralon Addison for the 2024 season.

The 30-year-old pass catcher joined the Redblacks prior to the 2023 season and suited up in eight games after suffering an Achilles injury the year prior. He caught 26 passes for 272 yards and two touchdowns while making the comeback.

“RNation, I’m honoured and excited to be back in the Red and Black!” Addison said in a team statement. “Can’t wait give you guys a healthy BA, and help build something special! Let’s get to it!”

Addison originally signed with the Toronto Argonauts in 2018 but made his CFL debut later that same season with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. He went on to spend four seasons in Steeltown, emerging as a CFL all-star in 2019 after recording 95 receptions for 1,236 receiving yards and seven touchdowns.

The Oregon product translated that season into an NFL opportunity with the Minnesota Vikings in 2020 but returned to Hamilton the following year after failing to make the roster. He has since been plagued by injuries, appearing in just 19 games over the last three seasons. In 39 career CFL games split Addison has amassed 190 catches for 2,285 yards, 53 carries for 298 rushing yards, and 11 total touchdowns.

The Redblacks will begin their 2024 season when they host the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Thursday, June 13 at 7:30 p.m. ET.
