The B.C. Lions have signed American receiver Keon Hatcher to a three-year contract extension through 2026. He was set to become a free agent next month.

The six-foot-one, 212-pound target made 78 receptions for 1,266 yards and six touchdowns over 14 regular season games in 2023 and was named a CFL all-star. He racked up a career-high 195 yards in the West Semi-Final before suffering an Achilles injury against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the West Final.

“British Columbia has become my football home. I’m grateful for the opportunity to help finish what we’ve started with this excellent group of players and coaches,” said Hatcher in a statement. “Last year didn’t end the way I wanted, but my recovery and rehab are on schedule and I’m excited to be back on the field early in the 2024 season.”

The 29-year-old has caught 165 passes for 2,483 yards and 13 touchdowns over 42 career CFL games since joining the Lions in 2021.

The native of Tulsa, Okla. made 127 catches for 1,845 yards and 18 touchdowns over 37 collegiate games at the University of Arkansas from 2013 to 2016. He spent four seasons in the NFL as a member of the Oakland Raiders, Green Bay Packers, New York Jets, and Detroit Lions.
