Green Bay Packers work out Lions’ LB Josh Woods, Alouettes’ DB Reggie Stubblefield

The Green Bay Packers worked out a pair of CFL players on Tuesday in B.C. Lions’ linebacker Josh Woods and Montreal Alouettes’ defensive back Reggie Stubblefield.

Woods grew into a rotational role in his third season with the Lions in 2023 before taking over as a starter in the playoffs, recording 23 tackles in two postseason contests. In 37 career regular-season CFL games, the UCLA product has collected 69 defensive tackles, 21 special teams tackles, two sacks, two interceptions, and a defensive touchdown.

The six-foot-two, 234-pound defender is scheduled to hit free agency on February 13. He has previously worked out for the Denver Broncos and New England Patriots.

Stubblefield was Montreal’s nominee for Most Outstanding Rookie in 2023 after recording 38 defensive tackles, three special teams tackles, three sacks, two interceptions, and one forced fumble. The 25-year-old helped his team upset the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the Grey Cup, recording five tackles and one sack in the CFL’s title game.

The six-foot, 195-pound defender remains under contract with the Alouettes for the 2024 season but can explore NFL opportunities through the league’s annual workout window, which extends until February 13. He has previously worked out for the Tennessee Titans and Minnesota Vikings.

The Packers (9-8) clinched a playoff spot in Week 18 and will face off against the Dallas Cowboys (12-5) in an NFC Wild Card game on Sunday, January 14 at 4:30 p.m. ET.
