The Atlanta Falcons have signed Canadian Football League all-star receiver Austin Mack.
He worked out for the Dirty Birds on Tuesday, January 2.
The 26-year-old made 78 receptions for 1,154 yards and four touchdowns this past season for Montreal. He was also a key part of the Alouettes’ offence during the team’s postseason run as he made 13 catches for 185 yards and two touchdowns, including a 104-yard performance in the 110th Grey Cup win over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
Mack went unselected in the 2020 NFL Draft out of Ohio State University but signed with the New York Giants shortly thereafter. He played 11 games with the team that season and made seven catches for 91 yards.
The six-foot-two, 215-pound target was released by New York in 2021 after being placed on injured reserve. He briefly joined the practice roster with the Tennessee Titans and then signed with the San Francisco 49ers. The Fort Wayne, Ind. native attended training camp with the 49ers in 2022 but was waived as part of the team’s final cuts. His NFL career earnings total $651,170 so far.
Mack ran a 4.59-second forty-yard dash at the 2020 NFL Combine along with a 31.5-inch vertical jump and nine-foot, nine-inch broad jump. He made 79 catches for 1,050 yards and six touchdowns over the course of his collegiate career with the Buckeyes.
